A node is any computer running blockchain client software and connected to a network, helping store, relay, or validate data. On Autheo, the validator role is a specific, licensed type of node.

In blockchain networks generally, a node is a device, a server, a personal computer, or specialized hardware, that runs the network's client software and connects to other nodes to keep a shared ledger synchronized. Nodes vary in function: some are full nodes that store and verify the complete transaction history and enforce network rules without producing blocks, while others are validators that actively participate in consensus, confirming transactions and proposing new blocks in exchange for rewards. The distinction matters because not every node carries the same responsibilities or earns the same rewards.

On Autheo, the term 'node' in the context of the node sale refers specifically to a validator node, a licensed position that participates in Proof of Autheo, a hybrid consensus model combining licensed validator eligibility (an Autheo NFT License) with stake-weighted block production (a staking or bonding threshold). Once both requirements are met, the validator set operates using a standard Proof-of-Stake model, earning rewards and producing blocks in proportion to stake. This framework is built on Cosmos SDK and Tendermint core BFT. Autheo's validator node count is fixed at 399 sovereign positions, which can be fractionalized into Core (1%) and Prime (10%) tiers, making an Autheo node a more specific and structurally scarce concept than the generic crypto term 'node.'
