THEO Token
THEO Token for Decentralized Storage
THEO is planned to be the payment and incentive token for decentralized storage delivered through the Autheo Marketplace as Autheo's L2 decentralized storage system rolls out on mainnet over the coming months. Decentralized storage delivered through the Autheo Marketplace is designed to extend validator capacity with verifiable, distributed data storage for large datasets, AI model weights, NFT metadata, and application state.
Decentralized storage through the Autheo Marketplace is being built as Autheo's L2 storage layer. As it rolls out, applications will pay THEO to store data on the network, while storage providers will earn THEO for providing reliable, verifiable storage capacity. The planned design uses content addressing and cryptographic verification to support data integrity without trusting a central provider.
Unlike IPFS (which lacks guaranteed persistence) or Filecoin (which operates as a separate network), decentralized storage through the Autheo Marketplace is being built to integrate with Autheo's validator infrastructure. As it rolls out, validators running the Autheo Eigensphere Engine (AEE) may opt into storage roles and earn additional THEO rewards beyond their base consensus emissions.
The planned decentralized storage design through the Autheo Marketplace includes a post-quantum cryptography roadmap around Kyber, Dilithium, and Falcon. That protection is not yet threaded into the live system, and the design is intended to address long-term data-storage risks as it rolls out.
