A smart contract is self-executing code deployed on a blockchain that automatically enforces the terms of an agreement when predefined conditions are met. Smart contracts eliminate the need for intermediaries in many types of transactions and agreements. On Autheo, smart contracts are executed by the AEE (Autheo Eigensphere Engine) runtime, which supports six programming languages: Solidity, Move, Vyper, Rust, Go, and TypeScript. This multi-language support means developers can write smart contracts in the language they are most comfortable with, lowering the barrier to entry for blockchain development.
